My gp's are nearly 12 weeks old, they seem very healthy, but 1 is considerably bigger than the other. Lily weighs 450g whereas Rose weighs just under 400g. Is this o.k? We haven't had guinea pigs before and worry that 1 is bigger.

They have had some dominance issues but in the last couple of weeks they seem to have settled down. They are definitely both eating although I have only seen one of them drink (the smaller one). Does their weight sound o.k? They are Aby Roans.

I dont think its a problem if there eating. Guinea pigs metablosim is mighty fast. Is the fatterr one lazy? thats what happens to mine the skiny one eats more while the fatter one eats the normal ammount then lies in the pigloo most untill the next feeding XD.

Their weight is within normal range and so is the difference in weight. Guinea pigs can vary a lot!

I have two sisters, and Nerys is a good 200g heavier than Nia. Even when I adopted them at ten months old, they were already 150g apart.

Young or rescued guinea pigs often have to learn to drink; but if you feed them a varied diet of fresh veg, they won't be dehydrated until they tweak the bottle. I had a guinea pig once that simply refused to drink, and she was not a special case.

I agree with the advice given; provided both are eating well, and both are healthy, the weight difference is nothing to worry about.
I have 12 pigs and the difference between the weights of them (all adults) is over 600g; I have the daintiest little things to the one who feels like a brick to pick up!

I also have to add that you have chosen beautiful names for what sounds like beautiful guineas! Roans are very pretty.

Thanks for everyone for all the feedback. It has definitely put my mind to rest. They are absolutely adorable, I bought them for my 11 year old daughter but I have to say I love having them. I tried to put a photo of them onto my profile but it wouldn't load, anyone got any ideas why?
