I lost a 2 year old boar a month ago he went in his run and we noticed him gripping the bars with his teeth looked like he was fitting, he died horrifically and in pain within an hour, we thought he had been poisoned perhaps the children had posted something in the bars. today i lost the other boar in the same circumstances, he was running around as usual, went out to put him to bed an hour later and he was lifeless i picked him up he let out 2 agonising squeels and died. what on earth could poison a piggie so quickly? there are no pesticides, on the lawn or anywhere in the garden and no foxgloves, i am petrified to put my other piggies out, so heartbreaking as the children were all cuddling him this afternoon.

oh no i am so sorry thats heartbreaking.

Rip piggies.

Are you sure where they are couldnt have been contaminated by something being dropped, ie/ birds dropping something etc?

So so sorry to hear about your little ones. Run free at the bridge. :0

I'm afraid without a PM you cannot ever be certain what it was. A very bad seizure can cause mortality if its very violent or lasts for a long time. But the cause of the seizures could have been anything. You've already said that you have no pestisides etc, the only realy main things that could cause siezures are:
- idiopathic - unknown cause
- poisonous plants
- pestacides/insectasides
- overdose of drugs
- heat stoke
- a metabolic disorder (for example diabetes causing hypoglycaemia)

You could go on. The only thing i can suggest is the wash down the lawn area, and just ensure that there are no poisonous plants within reach of your pigs. And keep a close eye on them.

Wish i could be for more help. Sorry. Thinking of you.

x.
