I agree with above posters that it is the amount of space one the one floor that is important. However, loft areas are very good for providing extra hideys or hay racks. I love C&C cages because of the flexibility they provide. This is a fantastic thread ...

I decided to make my loft area 1/2 height so the ramps weren't too steep. My ladders are made from folded grids and I have C&E cosies ramp tunnels

How do you make a loft half height? How do you fix it to walls and support it?

If your still looking te VonHaus 9 Cube set is £19.99, you get 33 grids. (eBay)
Then protectascreen do correx for £7.something + postage :)

I quite like the black cubes, more than the White grid ones ! And you haven't got to worry about hole size :) or them biting the paint off and such.

Will look at that now, thank you

Yay! I'm excited! Just bought a pack of 26 grids from grendle, so I can start to build and add correx, loft, ramps, roof, or whatever as I build and see how it's going in relation to the room space!

That is great news!
So here is stage 1.Thank you all for your help. Got a big piece of plywood and added some non slip batons for safety around the edges (and underneath) to sit across my Ikea coffee tables. Loft in the planning....
