It has been 2 weeks tomorrow since Harriet had her spay surgery, however it seems to be quite swollen and lumpy under the skin near the incision, the incision itself looks fine. I'm concerned something is wrong with it, like an abscess or prolapse, how does it look to you guys, is this normal swelling?

I agree with @furryfriends (TEAS) . Please have it checked!

Iola did have a bit of a fluid build-up along her scar, which caused some mild swelling, but that has been vet checked promptly and it has dispersed on its own.

That does look rather swollen, particularly when you look at the second pic. I would get the vet to check it. Does she react, like it is hurting, if you gently press it?
No she doesn't react at all, it does feel a bit hot but other than that it's just the swelling. She had a routine post op check 5 days after surgery to check her over and they were happy with it, however this app was with my regular cat/dog vet, it was Simon Maddock that performed the surgery, I just can't do the journey again for him to look at it so he advised to have my normal vet check it. The vet cut off some excess suture material at the top of the incision, and that is where it seems to be swollen now, I hope doing that hasn't caused a problem! Sometimes the swelling shows up in different places around the incision, like sometimes it's at the bottom and other times at the top. The redness I believe is just scar tissue coming through as the sutures are dissolving, but it still does stick out far more than I was expecting, I think I will take her back for another look...

Simon would probably prescribe a course of Zithromax to sort out any possible infection. Maybe email him those pics & ask him to email a prescription to your local vet so you can pick it up there. I wouldn't use Baytril as it will take longer to sort out x

She was on 0.75ml banana flavoured bactrim x2 daily for 7 days as a preventative for infection, maybe she needs more? There's no discharge or anything coming from it but as I say I'm worried there's an abscess or some kind of infection happening under the skin that we can't see and that's causing the bulging. Does simon have a personal email or shall I just use their enquiry email and ask them to show him?

I shown Simon the pics and he said that without seeing and feeling the wound it's impossible to say for sure, but he thinks it's likely to just be a fluid build up. He said to monitor it and see if it starts to decrease, but if it gets bigger or your piggy starts to appear unwell, you should get it checked.

If it's fluid, it will slowly disappear xx
