I weighed Jewel 8 days ago she was 924g and now I have weighed her today 8days later and she has lost 29g :(

Is this something to worry about. I will keep and eye on her and weigh her again tomorrow. She seems to be eating fine. She is about 8 months old.

Thanks :(

I wouldn't worry too much, though do track her weight for a few days just to be sure. A 30g loss can be something as simple as having just been to the toilet or not stuffed themselves on food in the hour or two before you weighed them.

If the trend is downwards over a few days then further investigation may be needed.

A variance of one ounce is not to worry about unless the trend continues. Please keep an eye on the weight. Have your piggies had a change of diet in going from eating lots of rich grass to not much lately?

I would weigh her daily from now to monitor her - she is still a nice weight tbh.
If there is further loss and nothing you can eliminate for the cause, it may be an idea to pop her to a good vet.
One of my girls had lost weight and has a small cyst on her back (vet said to leave alone unless it gets bigger) but she was 1003g so again, a good weight. She's an 'older' girl and I was frantic there was something I had missed but her eating habits are as normal as always...
I just keep her weight recorded weekly - she has lost a further 20g over five weeks so really keep an eye on her. Our vet said if there is significant loss, she could be booked in for an ultra sound scan but like your girl, she is a very happy and friendly piggy living with her huspig x) I won't put her through 'unnecessary' stress at her age...as long as her quality of life is good, I will leave her to live her days in comfort and lots of extra pampering being 'an oldie' xoxo
I know it's worrying but sometimes there is something underlying and worth a quick check over, I certainly felt better for taking my girl :)

My piggies weight seems to go down every now and then for no reason, maybe just human error or time of day.
I don't really worry unless it's a big difference or it keeps going down as i do different weigh ins.

Thanks guys :) I will be weighing her tomorrow.

I don't have grass in my garden so that is not an issue :) Thanks
