hi
i have 2 sows, molly and lucy who are 14 months old and we have recently upgraded to a 5x2 C&C
if i was to get another female piggy it would be a baby
Would my cage be big enough and do you think the bonding process would work considering their age?
thankyou!

A 5x2 is big enough for three sows.

Successful bonding comes down to character rather than age. While babies are often accepted, there is no guarantee.
The best way to ensure a good bond and that you don’t end up with a failed bonding is to take your girls dating at a rescue centre so they can choose their own new cagemate. It may be that they would be happier with a neutered boar rather than a baby sow!
If you do buy a piggy on spec, then always prepare for a failure but hope for the best. If a bonding fails, then a separate cage and potentially more piggies would be needed so no piggy is alone.

The guide below gives further information on what does and doesn’t work when adding new piggies to established pairs.

if i was to get a neutured boar would a 5 x 2 still house them all?
