Sasha, you passed this morning in my hands, but there is no way you've passed from my life or memory. You were such an entertaining little character, I remember you even escaped from your cage once and instead of running off you climbed into bed with me and woke me up. Thanks for the cheeky moments and for the times you've left me crying with laughter. I hope I gave you everything you needed. It's been a wonderful two years and you lit up my life.

I can't stop crying, I keep panicking thinking I've got it wrong, I keep feeling her and thinking she's warm or that I can feel a flutter. Deep down I know that she's gone as she's still. Thanks for your lovely words xx
 
I'm so sorry she was beautiful. I love the way she woke you up when she escaped from her cage.

If you want to be 100% certain you could ask the vet to check? I have been like this with a couple of my late hamsters as they can hibernate after all. It sounds grim but I knew they had gone when rigor mortis set in but I can see why you would worry.
 
I am so sorry for your loss. What a special little girl Sasha sounded.
 
She's definitely gone, her eyes are open and she's cold. I held her while she took her last breaths. I'll leave her in her bed until later then I'll find a free space in the garden. Thanks for everyone's support x

Oh no how sad! Thankyou for sharing such sweet photos, she was (and still is!) a gorgeous hammy. RIP smashie woowoo! x
 
Thank you all. We've put her in a nice spot in the garden and my friend is getting me a nice plant to put on top to say thanks for looking after her piggies :) I'm just thankful I have lovely photos and amusing videos to look back on x
