ive been looking round pet shops for some pet piggies, but no one has any
so i managed to get a number for a fella not so far away.
i was after one or 2 sows, but took all 5 of them.
poor things.
there only pet ones, but lovely.
i got a sow and two 1 week old sow babies. the sow only looks about 4 months old, she,s that small
then another sow that had 1 baby, about 8 weeks old, who were both in with a boar, poor things. so more babies to come soon.
mum,s coat is a bit thin also, could be stress, but will be bathing and treating for mites just in case.
thank god he is giving up breeding them, other wise i would of reported him.
i dont even think they have ever had any veg or grass, they just sit in a corner in the run outside.

i would say so kelly as he wanted me to have all his hutches and he would of delievered them free of charge
but they were old, dirty and falling to bits.

Aww! Good on you for rescuing them. Hopefully they won't be pregnant. Do they look pregnant? And are you sure all three babies are sows?

Kimmie

yes all 3 babies are sows
I'm going to wait for a few days before i take piccies as there very skitish
but will post a s a p

Well done love :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: you've saved these little furbabies from a very miserable life :(
But now they have a forever home that will care for them O0 :smitten:

i forgot to say, this fella,s mum own,s a garden centre
and the poor things were kept in a greenhouse

Aww, that's too bad. I'm glad that you got them and you're going to be giving them such a good home. Do you think any of them are pregnant again?

Kimmie

cant tell at the moement kimmie, but i would say the 2 that was in with the boar will be, poor wee things :'(

Since guinea pigs don't always get pregnant right away (it sometimes takes quite a while, in fact) I've got everything crossed that they can just have a good, spoiled life from now on and not have the strain of that.

Kimmie

How lovely of you to give them a much better home. Does this mean you have the boar too? Will that pose a housing problem for you?

Thank god they have such a good home know and that this backyard breeder has given up. Like Kimmie says sometimes it takes quite a while for guineas to fall pregnant. The mother could possibly be pregnant, however, if the baby is about eight weeks she shouldn't be pregnant. O0
