Hi.
I did some math a 40oz bag for 16usd-20usd.
Or i can buy 50lbs for 100usd. Thats 16ozs a pound and 50 x 16 is 800
Divided by 40ozs a bag 20.
So 20 40oz bags for 100. Instead of 4 40ozs bags. That would save me if i just bought a 40 oz bag of 400usd
Savings 300usd

I hope that makes sense.
Would 50lb go bad over time because they cant eat it up in a month.
It would save me 300usd.

also i recebtly bought 26lb of pellets. Will that go bad over time?
The bag of pellets have no zipper its like a flour bag or sugar bag that folds up but really huge.
thanks & godbless

Cant help you with an answer I'm afraid but i have been wondering the same thing! Their hay costs me £9 for a 1.8kg bag which lasts about a week or so.. Iv wanted to buy a bulk bag but unsure if itll go off.

No problem keeping hay - if you had horses you wouldn't be feeding it until it was a year old! Pellets I buy in bulk and keep in airtight containers like I do the dog food - I buy a month's worth at a time, sometimes more.

The hay should keep if you keep it dry and out of full sun and large temperature swings.

I do the same with my biscuits, store them in a big dog/bird food tub, I used the hay to fast to worry about storing lol, otherwise it stays in an open bag in the big cupboard we have, I get about 9.5kg per 4 - 6 weeks.

The pellets i have so far 1.4ozs each will last 260days

Thhinking of getting a temp reader for on top there cage and on top of there food.

Moving into new house this week and dont know if it will temp change
