5yr old worrying already!

Our two piggies Carrot and Daisy are coming up for a year old and my daughter has already started to worry about them getting old and dying

She asked me how long they live for and I told her about six years but sometimes they live longer or if they get poorly it might be less.

She told me that she was going to take extra special care of them because she doesnt want them to die 8...

We lost our cat last year so she knows that pets dont live forever and I expect she was thinking about the cat and got upset!

Bless her, what a thing to worry about. I did say that six years is a very long time, not to think about it and just to enjoy spending time with them

Its not easy being five!

Both my children are mad about the guinea pigs. I have a snuggle sack on order so its easier for them sit with the piggies on their laps - can't wait for it to arrive

My daughter is the opposite, i really struggled with her when she was younger shes 12 now and we get on so much better, my 5yr old asked me why I'm allowed to stay up when its bed time and shes not!

Yep,my daughter was a nightmare when she was 5 - so headstrong - she will be 14 on friday and doesnt really give me any problems.

Aww bless her! In a way though I think its good that you have told her about death and that she knows they won't be around forever.
