One of my girls has been off for a couple of weeks, we took her to the vets who supplied her antibiotics and pain meds and told us to go back of no improvement. She is eating as normal and still as active as she was but still not quite herself. Yesterday we noticed her lady parts were very swollen. Took her back to the vets and they done a quick ultrasound and have said there is something showing up in her bladder but advised us to go home and continue pain meds and if she is no better then visit a specialist exotic vets for further investigation but as our girls are 6 and a half if she was to need surgery for what is in her bladder would she pull through it? I dont want to prolong the inevitable but at the same time she seems well enough to continue on for the time being. I don't know what to do 😔

I’m sorry to hear this

Is she urinating normally?

Swollen vulva and ‘something in her bladder’ may point to bladder stones. Obviously only a vet can say but if her urethra does have stones in it (which can sometimes be the cause of a swollen vulva) even partially blocking urine flow, then it is very important that she is seen by a knowledgeable vet urgently.

I hope she is ok
