Hello, well my guinea pig has been on Bactrim for 7 days now for his URI. He started off sneezing and having a runny nose (only slightly) but his cage mate didn't have any of the symptoms at all. Anyway both of the boys were given Bactrim to take for 10 days (twice a day).
My boy who was sneezing now seems to have an even runnier nose than he had to begin with! And it's really weird, it seems to be completely on and off! Is this normal? I expected that the symptoms would have gone by 5 days... His friend shows no symptoms at all though. Both boys are eating and acting normal.
Should I take him to the vets if his nose is still runny, or should I wait out until he has finished the full course of antibiotics...?
Has this happened to anyone else before? I am starting to think it is allergy related? I live in Australia and it is spring here...When he is indoors he actually seems quite alright, but I just went and put the boys in their outside enclosure on the grass and he did a big sneeze.
