Is the day my poor missguided self visited a local rescue to pick up a guinea pig to live in a 100cm cage...

Luckily the rescue convinced me two was the way to go and I came home with Bumble and Bea. Two days later I joined this forum and it wasn't many months after that that I ended up with a large c&c and two more piggies... The guinea pig virus had fully taken hold of my heart.

8 years on and 11 pigs later I will never forget my gorgeous first pair and can't imagine my life without piggies

Happy Piggy addiction day, may you never be clean.

Adore Bea always

Ooh what a lucky day to join the forum
11.1.11 :)
Aww my latest adoptee is called Bumblebee

Do you have any photos of them?.. The first two of your addiction :))

March is my gotcha anniversary month of piggies over 20yrs ago now.
I hope I'm never cured of their addictive little virus that's got hold of me :)

I got 2 little sisters- one a brown & white Dutch colouring, the other a brown/tan agouti that had a face like a mouse.
The person I got them off of didn't separate dad or brothers quick enough so I ended up with 3 girls in total 11wks later!
I'd never read so many books on pregnancies in about 5wks as then....I didn't realise she was pregnant until about half way through! Plus there was no forum to come to my rescue in those days either! :(
Well I didn't even have a pc then come to think of it! Lol.
But I couldn't be without them now.... Even though I've just unexpectedly expanded to 4 girls!

Congratulations on your gotcha day :) :cake: :cake:

Especially for @GPTV here are the lovely ladies a couple of years after living with me but some of my favourite photos:

Bumble (was 6 months old when I adopted her and lived to around 6.5 years when she was on daily metacam for quite marked arthritis).

Bea (was around 2 years old when I adopted her and she was helped over the bridge at around 7 years old after gradually losing weight for 18 months due to renal disease during which we developed an especially close bond while she got lots of extra veggie treats)

Gracious goodness they were just GORGEOUS!   :luv: :wow:
No wonder you fell for them

I love Abys but have only ever had smooth coated girls until now.... Tiggy has an Aby face but she's long haired, so a mix not a true Aby.

Your girls were just scrumptious
Love those photos thank you :D
Oh & I had a Bea too, a buff shortish haired self :)
X

Beautiful piggies :)

Had piggies pretty much the whole time growing up but were outdoors.
When I got my old boys Reggie and Sheepy about 8yrs ago they were my first indoor pigs, realised how much I missed out on with them being out of the house!
Couldn't be without my piggies now, can't imagine getting peace and quiet in the morning and would be so strange if I didn't get shouted out when I go past them into the kitchen :)

Gorgeous girlies 💕 i’ve had pigwigs three separate times in my life now all about twenty years apart, they have such little characters, definitely my favourite pets.

Well apart from my George who was a beautiful bantam hen, we were inseparable x
