Hello Everyone,

I just rescued my 8th Guinea Pig. It wasn't planned but I couldn't stand by and do nothing and let this little girl become snake food.

She was kept in a card board box, uncovered, outside in someone's yard for a year and half. Her bedding was newspapers, water dish turned over, given grass and sporadic pellets (probably the unhealthy kind). I got her for free or she was going to be given to their next door neighbor who had a boa constrictor because their kids lost interest and parents didn't want to take care of her. I wanted to take a picture of outside living condition (it wasn't even a hutch...just a card board box). The sad part the cardboard box was placed next to their garbage can. I didn't want to judge, I just wanted to get her and drive home.

She is currently in her own cage (midwest) at the moment in quarantine. She's emaciated (you can literally feel her bones) and malnourished. She will be getting a health and wellness check tomorrow. Name is TBD....She is a bit wild and not tamed as my other piggies but give her time and she will be

I'm still upset that she was living in this condition and survived. She is a Himalayan.

That is great news, l am so happy for this little one,

Can't see any pics, but good for you rescuing this piggy, sounds like it really needed it and is blessed to have found you as sounds like it's going to be throughourly spoilt :-)

poor little piggy :( least she is safe now and will be well loved and cared for.

can't see the pics either

That made me really sad and then really happy that you have got her. I just don't understand how people can be so cruel!

Well done on rescuing this precious little girl. I am so looking forward to hearing and seeign lots more about her. She is stunning. What are you going to name her?

I amended your photos, for photobucket just copy and past the IMG code :)

She is gorgeous, how can anybody leave a little piggy in those conditions?! I'm glad she now has a loving home :)

Lucky piggy to have found a loving home with you. Bet she's soon as tame as your others. Well done for taking her on.

Oh my god she is one of the most gorgeous guinea pigs I have ever seen! Look at those eyes! That adorable little face and expression. How could anyone want to see that suffer or even worse, give to a snake?!?! UGH!

I'm so glad she has a home with you now and if you lived in England I would be more than happy to adopt her :))
Please update us on her =)

She is absolutely gorgeous...well done, I think it will take quite a while to rehabilitate the poor mite but I'm sure you'll do a grand job.

Thanks everyone. Her name is Smudgee . She was given a clean bill off health.

Sorry for the late replies but I've been going through some remodeling at my place (we listed our place on the market on Sunday (11/15) and received 4 offers. We are currently doing a counter offer to the four interested buyers to give us their best offer. Wish us luck.

Beautiful piggy she is a stunner I hope shes doing well xx well done to you xx

That is quite a cute guinea pig. If she was in an uncovered cardboard box for 18 months I am amazed of 2 thiings.
Firstly:- A wild animal or a cat didn`t get it.
Secondly:- Didnt get soaked by rain and disintergrate allowing it to escape.

She is absolutely gorgeous. Well done you for taking her in. I can't bear to think how sad she's been, but so happy thinking about the piggy life she's about to start with you x
