Hi,
So my new 9 month old boar PJ wheeks with no voice for the first 2 wheeks and then his voice resumes. He's a little small for his age as he was bullied by other boars at the rescue, but he's gaining weight and not losing it, and everything else seems normal... Any idea what this could be?

Thanks,
Sapphire

The problem is not uncommon although it happens more to piggies as they get old. Some lose their 'big wheek' and either nothing comes out or just a hoarse whisper. It is not a sign of a health problem.

Thank you Wiebke :) I was concerned because he is so young and it's not something I've seen in younger piggies before... It's good to know that it's just something to keep an eye on

I have one with a broken wheeker too :)) bless her she is elderly but her sides go with the effort, her mouth is open but all we get is a rasp
