Yesterday my washing machine door (inside the glass bit) smashed! I was washing only clothing and when I went to take it out there was a HUGE chunk of glass in there!

It has an intermittent electrical fault too so rather than pay £100 for a new door we got a new machine (thank heaven for credit cards!)

Anyway it comes tomorrow and it's a 9kg one - so does MASSIVE washes. My current washer is 5.5kg. I do 3 washes for every big cage clean out. I hope to get away with 2 not all that full washes now.

I'm so excited! Has anyone else got a BIG washing machine and can you fit millions in?

I have ordered one of those horse kit wash bags as I suddenly feel precious about my new machine! I ordered the jumbo one so anyone got one of those - how does it work out?

Wow Lisa I want one of those too - I have to do 4 washes per clean out so that would be miles easier.
I have one of the horse wash bags - is it orange with a zip? I've always used it & have not had any probs (touch wood) xx

Suzanne I should probably have been doing 4 but I stuff things in and maybe leave one blanket til next time.

Good news about the bag. Its all coming tomorrow and I will have a build up of ours and their washing by then!

We have big machines in my building and they do a way better job than my mum's little 5 kg one. For the washing bags I've found that two or three smaller are better than one huge as it distributes the washing better in the machine.

I'm so happy for you, congratulations!

I have no idea how big our washer is (does it say somewhere on it?) I'd LOVE a huge one! I think I over fill ours :{ It doesn't half make a racket when it's on the spin cycle.

I also have those bags, I think mine are jumbo ones. I've started not putting the inco pads in though. I don't know how high a temp you can wash the bags at, and I wanted to wash the pads higher. Currently I do 4 washes a week; one wash for Henry's cage (2x towels, fleece, crash pad and beaver toy :) ) in the wash bag, then I do all of the fleeces etc for the other two cages in the wash bag and then 1/2 the inco pads just in the drum, then the other 1/2 of the inco pads.

I have 2 of the wash bags, they are great because you can chuck all the dirty washing in one to keep it all together and not stink out the house!

How sad am I, I'm excited about your big washer! LOL! I want one!

Are they physically bigger?

Hi,
I'm sure you'll love it. I've got a 7kg washing machine which fits a double duvet in it or the dog beds or loads of piggy washing. A 9kg one sounds absolutely fantastic - let us know how you get on with it - I'm excited for you :))

I have a 7KG machine. When we got it, we were really excited about not having to wash so often. Then we discovered that the wash would no longer fit into the dryer ... We also realised that the drum wasn't 50% bigger: it would merely take a heavier load (although it was bigger). However, I love it all the same. My only regret was not paying the extra £50 for the timer model.

i just bought an new washer this week (a lovely samsung thing with a 7kg wash capacity) oh my god i love it i love it i love it!
i too have just bought little wash bag things for bras and socks and anything else that could damage/get caught in my new machine, nothing is allowed to be put on top (my microwave used to sit up there on my old one...) and i find myself wiping it down every time i walk past! lol wonder how long i'll keep doing that for!
