Can I ask your opinions please on my next choice of fabrics, I like the funky fun colours and the basics colours. I stick to bold colours and not too complicated fabrics as I have to match the fleece up with the cottons.

I am looking at these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Funky-Pol...?pt=UK_Crafts_Fabric&var=&hash=item2ebe411260 all the variations of them so will be doing a pink at some point which I tend to avoid as its very girly (and my silver would never use it as he hates pink things :)) ).

What I want to know is
1) do you generally like the fabrics - is it fun, would you like a sqube made up out of it? I would use it for the dog quilted blankets I make as well so thinking of using the fabrics for squbes, ferret rolls and dog blankets.

2) do I match the fleece to the main colour? Take the red with green spots for instance, I would quite like to mix it up with green fleece base, but I could do some with red, some with green just to mix it up I supposed but I quite like to pick up on the spot colours - but dont want to make it garish.

So opinions please. I currently do stripes, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Coloured-...?pt=UK_Crafts_Fabric&var=&hash=item2ec1d20c03, the 3 colours of musical note (blue, green and orange) as its a different fabric, the strawberrys on white background as its a pretty fabric and of course the yellow or blue butterflys, which is why spotty would go well and I could get the white spotty on colour fabrics as well http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Spotted-P...?pt=UK_Crafts_Fabric&var=&hash=item2a1fd91bd9. I dont want to go mad and get lots of fabrics to be stuck with beds that dont sell of course.

i will take a look at those once i'm on the computer later. We love pink here. Specially for our 2 boars. Pink is perfect! Can.t wait to see

Hiya - yes I love the funky polka dots and like that they are on a coloured background rather than the spotted polka dots on a white background which could get grubby.

Matching the fleece to the background colour sounds good to me - I would love the pink spots to be matched with a cerise pink fleece!

thank you both, and I am glad you think matching the spots with the fleece would be a good idea, I think again using the red and green as an example, too much red would make it a bit, well red :))

The beauty of the striped is the white or the black breaks up the block of colour, with the opening detail of the same as the bottom being a nice touch. The musical note ones are more a solid colour but they have a different feel to them pattern anyway so carry off the whole same colour thing. The spotty wouldnt look right if I didnt make them more fun :))

I like the spotty ones especially the grey and pink one it would be nice with light pink fleece. :)

Also like polka dots, and boy colours! Yellows and pinks seems a but too girls for boy pets!

I have ordered more fabrics but with my second op coming up this week I wont be making the new ones up too quickly, but panic not as I do make them up all the time to keep a choice available.

I do try to stick to colours that can be either boys or girls, but I will do a few pinks for people who do like to have pinks in their colour schemes.

i think a certain hairy wig pig might like one of these for xmas! Are they one size?

She has this house and I've not seen her out of it all week! poor Jeffrey has to sit outside the door though, as there's not enough room for two :(

They are one size which is ample room for one, enough room for two but not three as silver, fudge and minty discovered when they all tried to fit inside rolleyes

And the size is based on lupin and tyrian sharing - so that gives you an idea of size, actual size is 10.5" x 9.5" and 7" high. And apparently someone I know brought one for her mums pigs and the cat has taken up residence :))

Oooh should be plenty big enough for my 2 then (if she lets him in!). Will have to start saving the pennies!
