We all know Blackbirds are great mimics right? I have one that lives in the copse up the top of my road that sounds like a telephone ringing regularly ☎. Well tonight he decided to try his new song he sounded just like a piggy wheeking! Well Meg to be exact:eek:. I know it wasn't Meg as she was in the hutch tucking into her dinner of veg and this new wheeking sound came from the copse. Now I'm going to be totally confused. Is Meg wheeking or is it the Blackbird?:hmm:

Be great if you capture that on video what a little superstar

We need a blackbird cam like on Spring watch :))

I love blackbirds :) got a little gang that live in and out of my crab apple trees in the garden and are my morning alarm clocks on the washing line!
Yep, I agree blackbird cam sounds good! :D

years ago we used to have a cockatiel and our adjoining neighbour bought an African Grey Parrot, they were both housed against the same wall in the same room. After a couple of months both birds would imitate each other, it was pandemonium! Blue had a very large shriek which our Tommy started to copy, and Tommy would doodle doo, which Blue would copy.
They both had quite a vocabulary including some rather rude words, especially Blue
Tommy would say “Rock on Tommy!” And “Such a pretty boy” a real character 😝

We used to have starlings that would sit on top of the garage (where the pigs lived) and they’d make urgent piggy noises until some one came out of the house. I think they thought it was hilarious. They also did car alarms and telephone ringing
