Adult Guinea Pig
Scribble the little guinea pig is one of those guinea pigs who do not want for much. His owner fed him lots of delicious hay, gave him a dinner of pellets and a breakfast and supper of fresh salad and vegetables. When he was especially good, or there was a special occasion, he would get a piece of fruit which he loved. His cage was huge, bigger than a cage many guinea pigs lived in.
But he wasn't happy. Something was missing but he wasn't quite sure what this was.
Then: Scribble saw something incredible.
Tea-Rat: "Fold down the sails! Driver at the steering wheel! Sprinkle the Magic!"
Rosie-Rat: "We've done it! To the Sweeties!"
Mei-Rat: "Sweeties!"
A large cardboard Pi-Rat ship powered by a magical sea sailed out from the rat cage living across from Scribble's. Scribble wheeked loudly after the rat girls as they rounded the corner and went out on the door on their quest for sweeties. He popcorned and dashed over to the food bowl to speak with Buddy, his older companion pig.
"Did you see this? Did you see?! I want to go on adventure just like the piRat girls!" Scribble declared.
"An Adventure?" Buddy chewed, " What do you need an adventure for? Your life is adventurous enough:"
"Remember the time when the grass went missing? That was exciting; we had to try and find all of the juicy strands instead of the old and dry ones." Buddy pointed out.
"This was not an adventure!" Scribble declared
"What about the time when your head disappeared when you were trying to find the Timothy hay mixed in with the meadow hay?" Buddy suggested "That was exciting - you were headless. I prefer you headless because then you couldn't eat so much."
"Not the same!" Scribble wheeked.
"We had a bath day recently." Buddy suggested "That was adventurous."
Scribble sighed and shook his head "I want to go on an adventure for 'Sweeties'. Like the rat-girls!"
"Well then." Buddy said slowly, "We had best speak to the sows first to see what they say. Many pets have gone on quests to find the source of the sweeties and there are stories of guinea pigs who seek The Lettuce but never return. You will have to think long and hard about what you want to do when you leave the cage... it's not so simple out there as eating, sleeping and wheeking."
Scribble found it difficult to sleep that evening in his cuddle cup as his mind was so excited with ideas on the adventures he would have once he got out of the cage.
