Has anyone else experienced this? Marbles was a timid piggie until she fell ill, and after recovery, she loved lap time, and became really lovable.. Liquorice was a nervy, jump out of her skin type at the slightest noise of piggie, when she had her abscess, after, she loves licking my face and spending time with me and she over came her jumpiness.. Humbug, well she loves spending time with me, and is very mardy
Nursing a poorly piggie can develop a bond. Also, as you are handling them more it can let them know you arent going to hurt them and they can then associate you with nurturing. Enjoy your new found bond with your piggies.
Oh dear it went the opposite way for Artie, I spent so many hours syringe feeding him, taking care giving his eye drops and antibiotics and he went from a very confident piggie to a nervous and flighty one. Poor baby, its taken me almost 13 months to get him to be calmer and take food from my hand again, he also doesnt mind being stroked.
Percy-Roo on the other hand has become closer to me
How strange was just telling my friend about this the other day.
A few months ago my bf left a cable lying out and my piggie Sam munched it....electrocuted piggie
I was out at work and only found him hours later completly colapsed. I stayed up all night with him. I don't think I left him for 3 days! Was so worried. Since then he is a different pig (he has a v.slight left sided weakness ) but now he loves his cuddles. He has always been very tame as I spend loads of time with the pigs but now he will fall asleep on me for hours and kisses me all the time Thank goodness he survived x
