One of my piggies has got a cough. Its quite loud and quite a rasping sound and I wondered should I be concerned or is that ok if he has no other symptoms? Ive hard the cough about 5 times today but I have been here all day. He has not other symptoms and his ears and eyes are fine.

hi. Might be worth getting checked out by a vet. There are so many respiratory infections at the moment and my vet has mentioned that he has seen loads of cases lately. Better to be safe than sorry

xx

I would get it checked by a vet, he could just need a course of AB's, one of my boys had a cough for weeks and weeks, and no other symptoms, when i started getting more frequent i took him to the vets, he went of a 10 day course of AB's and this cleared it up straight away and he hasn't coughed since!

Though when i posted i was told coughing can be a sign on heart failure/disease. It is always best to get these things checked out.

Hello, as the others have said please do get him seen by the vet. Have they been near any drafts or experienced any changes in temp? Sarah should be able to point you in the right direction of a good vets!

Hope it's nothing serious, but I would get it checked out. Good luck. :)

Hello,

Many thanks for all your replays. I'm fairly happy with the treatment my cat and chickens get at the vet near me and I will call and see whether they are piggy savy. I will book him in for a check. Many thanks
