A 'crunchy' Fleece Liner Pad

i recently bought an absorbent fleece cage pad (about 1grid square) and it arrived today. but it feels and sounds quite 'crunchy' - like the sound of scrunching tissue paper?! very odd. not had one like it before so wondered if anyone knew what absorbent material might have been used in it? i should have asked before i bought it but just assumed it would be something soft!

eta: rustling is the word i was trying to think of!

Was it advertised as waterproof as well? as that sound like the noise the waterproof sheeting inside my lap pads makes when they move.

I agree with the above, it does sound like it has some form of leek proof layer in it

yes, it was. absorbent layer and waterproof layer. that explains it then
