Hello

Apologies if this is not the right place to post this.

This evening, a few hours ago, my beloved elderly boar, Ralis, passed away in my arms at home. I'm not really in a fit state to talk about what happened, but I do have a question I could use some advice on. We may not be able to get him to the cremation services until Monday, what should we do until then? We currently have him in a chilled cool box, in a hay nest. Will this be alright?

Thank you.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Take your time, there’s no rush to talk about what happened.

I think some have put their piggies in the freezer, wrapped in something. So a cooler should be fine I would think. All the best ♥️

I've had a piggy in a shoebox full of hay just in a cool room for about 36 hours and there was no smell or anything. I'm sorry for your loss x

Sorry for your loss
I kept my last deceased piggy wrapped in a towel in a clip-lid plastic box in a spare fridge until the pet cremation service were able to collect him the next day.

I'm so sorry for your loss, rest easy little one💕

I am so sorry for your loss. You are welcome to post a tribute in our Rainbow Bridge section when you feel up to doing so.

I, too, have kept a piggy wrapped in fleece in a clip lock box in the freezer when I have had to delay passing to the cremation service.
