Adult Guinea Pig
I have been fostering the gorgeous Gus for the Wheek and Squeak since the beginning of August when he was brought into rescue at 4 months old for biting his owner. He was going to stay for a few weeks while the rescue was full but ended up staying for 6 months. He is now a wonderful character, tame and doesn't bite, I just couldn't bear to part with him when Anna called to say she'd got room and some single boys to try and pair him up with.
I took him down to the rescue just over a week ago to meet a new friend. We tried a couple of pigs who just jumped straight on his head so came back out pretty quickly! Nugget had lost his partner the day before so we decided to try him as he was a couple of years older. (Gus will be 1 in April, Nugget will be 3 in April) Things looked much better straight away. Nugget wanted to mount Gus (as to be expected), he hates having his bum touched anyway but Nugget was very good and didn't persist. Gus hasn't met another pig so we didn't know how he was going to react.
They've kept Anna and her husband entertained during their week bonding. Anna made me laugh when she said her husband called up the stairs to say the pigs in the kitchen are running round lots, she called down oh no are they fighting and he replied, no, just racing.

I picked them up yesterday and there's been lots of running round and popcorning. I think Gus is bringing out the minipig in Nugget.
Nugget has a new name because I can't stop thinking of chicken nuggets! He's now Jacques so the boys are named after the two mice in Cinderella. (also the Panto we just had at work)
