I have 2 boars ones about 4 months, the other about 7 months. Got up this morning & they are having a disagreement. They quite often play chase but this morning it's not that, it's more purposeful. They are rumbling at each other. The older one is neutered the other one is not. Theirs no blood just chasing.

Sounds like the hormones are kicking off big time.
Fingers crossed that they rumble through it, and emerge unscathed the other side.

Yea I wondered whether it was hormones. How long does this carry on for. I need to go out for shopping but dare not in case it gets really nasty. Thanks swissgreys

I can't answer your question, but I can say that my two are always rumbling at each other at the moment. It's like they've got their own soundtrack going. I would go out shopping, if all they're doing is rumbling and chasing each other. It may not be "calm" again for hours, or it could last another 5 minutes. As long as they aren't fighting, it's definitely standard behaviour. Just keep a close eye on it when you can.

Definitely sounds like hormones! Make sure they have two of everything and that they don't have any houses/cosies with only one entrance, so that no one can get cornered. Hopefully its a smooth ride!

Not to scare you with my horror story but I had that problem with a pair of boars. Humphrey got his teenage hormonal surge and was always chasing Monty around- and I'm sorry to say this but he was at it on and off for about 3 months!
All I could do was make sure there were 3 of everything (he couldn't guard them all!) and give them as much space as possible. Monty ended up having to have stitches to sew his lip back on after a particularly bloody scrap (though it seemed like it was an accident as they pined like mad when I separated them) and at nearly 3 years old they get on perfectly now.

Criky I don't fancy going to the vet with there bits hanging off, I've just spent £49 on my hamster at the vet today.
It's calmed down for now.
I've completely cleaned the cage, put a couple of new things in there, then we have totally rearranged the cage. At the moment everything's gone quiet.
