As many of you are aware, I lost my gorgeous girl Connie just over a week ago :0 This resulted in her friend Eliza being left on her own. Connie will never be replaced but I need to think of Eliza's future as she is still only young herself and is very sad. Me and Chris discussed everything and both agreed that if we ever lost one of the pigs, we would love to rescue another and give her a great home.
Anyway, thanks to the lovely Helen and of course Jane (nutmeg) who pointed me in the right direction we are adopting a real cutie from Sokel guinea pig rescue and she should be arriving this Friday :)I just hope that her and Eliza will bond well and that the new piggy will be as happy here living with Eliza that Connie was xxxxxxxxx

aww! that's fab news. any pigtures of the new girl on the block? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Only three days now!

Just you wait and see the change in Eliza when she has company again. I hope that they will take to each other right away! Things will certainly be lively!

Until then, give Eliza a big cuddle from me.

PS: You never forget the ones who you love. The new ones simply build their very own nest in your heart...

Great news Claire, I am glad you have found a little one to join Eliza. A grieving piggie will often take to new friends much easier than normal. Looking forward to seeing Eliza's new buddy.

I adopted pigs just days after my three passed. Saffron and Breanna arrived 3 days after Charlie died, and I gave Breanna a second name (Charleyrose) in honour of Charlie. Likewise with Meghan and Willa, I adopted those girls only 2 days after Tuppence passed (which was also 9 days after Lottie died). I gave the new ladies second names in honour of those recently lost - Lottie-Rose and Tuppyrose. I find naming them very therapeutic.
The timing of my adoptions some may consider too hasty, but it was right for me. The pigs were there, waiting at the rescue, at a time I had space in my home and heart for them. Only you can tell when the time is right to bring new life into the home.

There is no greater honour to past piggies than to open your heart and your home to another piggie in need. It's the best tribute you could give.

Thats loevely news, does she have a name yet or are you deciding on one at the moment?

Claire, I'm so pleased - she will be good for you, and for little Eliza too. Looking forward to more news of her.

There are a couple of names that we like. Ellenor (Ellie) is one that is at the top of the list as it sounds nice with Eliza (Lizzy). Of course, it may not suit her yet. She is known as Lilac Girl at the minute and the name has kind of stuck but we'll see on Friday :) x

what about Lilly/Lillie for her? i think that'd be a beautiful name for a lilac. x

great news! Eliza will be pleased! Can't wait for the photos!

Thats a lovely name Claire :) I keep on counting down the days with Eliza. I just wish that she understood me when I tell her that she will be having a new friend very soon. Luckily, Chris is off work on holiday so she hasn't been on her own everyday xx
