Hi All,

Just a quick question one of our 2 is a Rex, she has lovely fur and is around 8 weeks old. We have only had her a few days and I have just noticed that by her front leg is a hard knot of something tangled in her hair. It looks almost like glue ?/ is matted in the hair. Se is totally un bothered by it, there is no nibbling or redness around it. Now normally I would carefully remove it like I did with the cat but its very close to the skin and its about the size of a 10 p bit! It does not look a scab or anything like that. Its very odd.
The question I ask is do the Rex's suffer from hair problems?

I would take a photo but the camers is not working sorry...

I think I may take them both to the vets for a check over and let them have a look.

i'm not sure, never had a lovely rex! i think a check up at the vets is always a good idea! i'm sure he or she will sort it out. i dont think cutting it off will be easy x

It doesn't sound like anything I've come across and I dont know of Rex pigs being susceptible to lumps and bumps.

I think the best bet would we to see your vet and hopefully they can diagnose and sort it out quickly x

I figure thats the best idea, Its a bit too close for me to do.

I have two rex piggies and have never come across this before. I think the vets is the best idea.

Welcome to the forum, just read your other thread :)

I'm starting to think it could be some dried food or possibly glue from when they were with the breeder. As she seems totally not bothered by it, I shall pop to our vet on Thursday on my day off and get her checked over.

have you tried wetting the patch, you might be able to see it a bit better

Thats a good idea, never thought of that will give it a go and keep you all updated.

I wonder, from your prefix, whether you would cut off the lump yourself?

It sounds very much like boy glue to me, I have 6 boys and often have to cut out clumps of the stuff, if you have only had her a few days could she have been with a male before she come to you, as boy glue is male semen, it looks like pva glue.If it is that it is impossible to wash out the only way I can remove it is by cutting it away. Good luck with her.

LOL sadly not I'm a copper in real life, I could arrest it but she has been good so far!

Not thought of that, possibly could be... Just hope she is not preggers!rolleyes

"I could arrest it "
I like it!!
I appreciate a sense of humour (not everybody appreciates my sense of humour though!!)

I think you were rather misunderstood to start with! LOL I'm sure people are starting to appreciate it more now though. I've had quite a giggle at times at some of your comments! You have the same dry sense of humour that my ex husband has! Wonder why he's my ex? :))

Yes, I have fallen victim to my own sense of humour this morning.
I believed the English urban myth about Australians having a laid-back sense of humour.............!!!
Double meaning..... intended!!

I doubt AP intends to offend but unless you've got your reading glasses on, it's hard to interpret things they way they're said!

AP you're too hard on yourself....:) although, smileys do help with meta- and paralanguage...

Dr Suess, has your piddy got a pal? I'm totally new to the thread.... so sorry if I'm asking the obvious...

What is a Piddy? Is it a pig that wees a lot?
I don't get pleasure so much from what I post as the responses I get back. It is strange that some people ignore everything, others respond negatively whilst others respond in like manner.
What was it W. Shakespeare (He was a well known English playwright) said about
"Life's rich tapestry".?
I don't know if he did say anything but it seemed like a good quotation to me.
I am sure Sir Les Patterson would have more than enough to say or dribble, he hasn't been on tv lately.
I think that is enough humour from me today, guess some would respond with the hope it was enough, full stop!!

I agree wiyh you Debbie, I havn't laughed so much for ages. AP has a wicked sense of humour.

Can there really be people "out-there" who think like me?
Am I not alone after all this time?

"We" are many

"They" are with us already?
Don't you ever go to bed?

I have just realised how to recognise you. You all have bouncing melons at the end of your posts.
