So I've found a little lump on Jemima, at the top of her right front leg.

I think it's been there a while but I thought it was just her leg joint.

I had a good feel around and it's not really connected to anything - is just loose under her skin and about the size of a marble.

It doesn't hurt her when I touch or squeeze it. It's not impeding her movement.

Obviously I'm going to get it checked out but wondered if any of the health experts here had any ideas.

Please NO horror stories! Thanx x

Please don't panic unduly, but you are right to get it checked out by a vet. I wouldn't like to speculate. Healing vibes x

Thanks @VickiA ... she's my little princess so a little worried but I know little lumps can be lots of things. We'll see what the vet says.

@sport_billy ... do you have any experience of this as well?

@Wiebke I know you have a lot of medical knowledge too x

I should probably add the lump is pretty soft and pliable.

Gosh I wish I hadn't gone searching lumps on the forum, now I've panicked myself...

Seriously @TheAurora you can worry yourself to death totally unnecessarily -it could be something totally benign. Let your vet tell you what they think it is. The Internet is both a blessing and a curse sometimes. Big hugs as I can tell you are really worried as you love your fur baby. Try not to stress until, you know what it is xx

My piggy Ziggy had a lump under her armpit on her front leg, it turned out to be a small abscess which was encapsulated & the vet removed it fully & it healed well with no ill effects :) She has also had one right under her neck a couple of years ago which was also removed. I think some pigs are prone to them so hopefully that's all it is. Rather than a biopsy I would recommend it is fully removed as it saves the second operation. I am sure she will be fine :) x

Not 100% sure to be honest, but agree with all the suggestions above. It is a good sign that she is letting you touch it though and it does not seem attached to anything.

Not having it attached to anything is a good sign. Let us know what the vet says.

Try not to worry, googling things always brings up bad things.

Try not to worry. sending Miss Fluffy-bottom lots of vibes

*Hugs*

Thank you x

I've got myself all worked up ... I love her so much.

I rang Sarah at Hazelcroft this morning where, as you know, the fluffballs were adopted from. We had a good chat and feel calmer.

Good, have you got a vets apt sorted? That will really help once you know what is what.

:D My old girl Bonnie (5+ years) has had a small lump in the loose skin behind her right front leg since she was very young. It has never changed and does not bother her at all. You have to hold her in the right way to even be able to find it! So don't worry too much @TheAurora! :tu::tu:
