We are currently looking around the websites for a new shed to house the shelter's poorly piggies during the winter months. The shed will have individual hutches in, it's not roam free housing that we need.

I wondered if anyone keeps their gps in a metal shed as opposed to the wooden ones? I know the metal ones can sweat during summer but for the purpose of winter do you think a metal one would be ok?

Opionions and ideas are appreciated please as I can't make my mind up!
Thank you
Claire

I don't think it really matters as long as it provides shelter and extra warmth :) Mine are in a brick outhouse and are perfectly fine in there so I assume that a metal shed would do the trick

Wooden. Metal gets like an oven in the summer... My uncle has one to store his animal food in and it is stifling hot as no air runs through unless you pepper it with holes...

I would get a shed you can use all year round rather than moving them from one shed in the winter to one in the summer...
Wooden looks nicer in my opinion as well :)

I would say a wooden one too - might be wrong but would have thought a metal one was colder in winter.?/ It would definitely get very hot in summer.:)

Mines plastic
But i would consider insulation which ever one you go for
metal may warm up quicker when sunny that would need checking out thou

Metal ones often have no windows for light to come in when the door is shut thats the only thing I would say

The horse feed was kept in a metal shed where I used to work, It was really hot in the summer and freezing in the winter. When it snowed we used to throw water (Just a drip) on the inside to see how far down it got before it froze. Metal is a good conductor of heat/cold. Plus really noisy when it rains, I would go with a wooden one every time

Hiya,

We got a custom 18 x 5 shed from a company in Yarmouth called Stevies Sheds for only about £600, which is good considering the size.

They are quite good quality, the windows just leaked a bit, but we sealed them and it was alright.
A metal shed would probably be a bit more water proof lol, but they might be a bit dark? unless you can get a light in :)

xx
