A new boar pair!

I’ve taken on a new boar pair. Unrelated but have been getting on. Both are Peruvian. Got home yesterday at 3pm. As of now they still haven’t touched the water bottle. The type I have is what they had where they were. I know it’s normal. I just went and bought a cucumber and they are munching through it right away so I can be assure they will now have some liquid. No matter how many times I read new pigs might no drink etc at first it still concerned me. If they don’t use the bottle soon any way to encourage it’s use for these?

they are long haired Peruvians. One of them has a minor sight impairment but they are both healthy. They are being left with cage cover to settle

You could try putting more than one water bottle in. You could put the second water bottle in a different place (further from you, maybe under cover) to see if that suits them more.

Definitely dont worry at this point - the amount they drink varies widely - if you see wet patches in the cage, then they are getting enough fluids. Only one of my boys seems to drink. Ive only seen the other drink a handful of times in the past three years.
