Hi everyone!

I wanted to post our new C&C cage! Now I've had some amazing C&C structures over the years (let me know if you want some old photos of them!) but for the last few years I've had shop bought large cage in the house for my 2 skinnies and my other shed pigs have had purpose built huge enclosures. But I got a new piggie last week and wanted to bond her to my skinnies - not that easy of a task as they are both Diva's but hurrah it's looking like we've done it!

She was bonded up with the in a run on the kitchen floor and I had forgotten how anxious a time that can be - watching and listening for hours. I then decided that no matter how much I cleaned it and decked it out differently there was no way I was putting them all in the cage the skinnies had come out of. It was too small and I felt they would be territorial over it. So my lovely husband cobbled together a 3 1/2 x 2 C&C temporary cage while we got the grids to do a 4 x 2 2 storey thing.

Well that was finished last night and everyone has been happy in there ever since. Infact once we got past 24 hours of bonding the skinnies decided to play nice. PHEW!

Here is the cage and the pigs in question anyway..

Thanks for letting me share it's been ages since I've posted any photos on here...

aww your piggy's are gorgeous and your cage looks lovely :)

how do you get on with fleece if you don't mind me asking, I'm thinking of changing from shavings

GRR my photos went wrong - I told you I was rubbish at this!

Thank you :)

I've been a fleece user for ages and ages and personally I love it. I have one end of the cage newspaper and hay which is changed daily and the other end all snuggly and soft. Then there is the loft which is vetbed and snuggly beds.

When I put hay on my fleece I ended up blocking up the washing machine a few times so now it's definitely separate from the fleece!

Glad it is going well! Gorgeous piggies x)

Your setup is really cool, like the sides on your loft level, that's a good idea.

I like the idea of rooms too, with hay down one end and the comfort down the other - lucky pigs!

That is a cool set up. I wish I could have C&C as I love the creative element and the fact you can change stuff round when you get bored but my little climbing demons would be out in a flash.

Your girlies are gorgeous and I am sure they will be loving the new pad.

Great news! They are making a lovely trio and are having a lovely cage.

I use hay trays (old cage bottoms, seed or photographic trays) to keep all the hay from being spread all over the fleece too much.

WOW...That is really cool how you have made a mini condominium for your furry (and not so furry) piggies

Lovely new set up, we keep our hay separate too as best we can. Is one of the skinnies Dolly?

Yes Dolly is still with us and still quite the Diva. The other is one of her (not so little) babies - remember them?

I do, I remember the ups and downs so well, cried my eyes out when Tiny white and tint red died. I love Dolly and am so pleased she is still with you and her baby too. It was Dolly who made me always want skinnies and then a year or so later I was lucky enough to be asked by Sue from Hillsbrooke to take 2 in - Katie and Phoebe, they are massive divas too.

OOh I have missed so much! Where can I see yours?

very cool set up. i love the look of c&c cages...been toying with a couple of c&c cages for a while...am just rubbish at that sort of thing hehe... and they are v gorgeous piggies :D

Well I'm pleased to report that giving them quiet time seems to have helped enormously. I have been camping so there hasn't been anyone living here - but my mum has been coming and giving veggies / water / hay. After getting back they seem MUCH happier and more interested in being a bit nosy as to who is visiting them and peeking out at me. Very pleased! I'll try and get better photos soon to show them off properly - they are cute!

DUR I put this on the wrong thread was meant to be on the one where the two girls I rescued I was unsure about!
