Not sure if this is in the correct section but thought I would just sign up and say hi!
I had piggies for years when I was younger, and when they went to piggie heaven and I grew up I decided 2 dogs and the horse were enough for me to look after, I'm now 27. But after I sold the horse last year I had so much spare time on my hands, and now I have my own house, with garden I have taken the plunge again, so today I brought 2 little piggies, Gordon and Blair, 1 Sheltie and an Abby, both lemon and white. They were so outgoing personalities when I first saw them and went back, saw them again and then decided they were the right two for me. So, today I brought them home, and they are now snuggled up together and I'm hoping not to frightened of what the night will bring....I would love to take pics and post them but thought it best to leave them to settle in for the next few days and let them figure out what this new life is all about...anyway I think I've talked too much, hope you are all well...
Peter (a little daunted!)

Hello Peter,

Don't be daunted we don't bite. Thats wonderful news you've entered back into the piggy realm. They sound delightful, I can't wait for pigtures :).

Welcome to the forum :) and just remember piggies are a slippery slope ;), they will have you wrapped round there piggy paws in no time! rolleyes!

Hi Peter and welcome to the forum

I hope that Gordon and Blair settle quickly for you... don't forget pics when they do! ;)

Hi Welcome, glad you have got guinea pigs again. Hope you enjoy talking pig with all of us here. Looking forward to the photos. xx

Hi and Welcome :D This is a great site for talking all things Guinea Pig. Have picked up some great advice :)
Looking forward to seeing Pics :D

Think I'm doing this right, replying! Aaaw thank you, both boys seem very settled if I can remember from years ago of how mine used to be!
I used to watch Guinea Pig vids on youtube and never got over their affectionate nature, so here I am again...It's been a while and I may ask for advice etc but I've remembered all the basics! I was even smart enough to build the 3 tier hutch on my own! When I first put them in they ran down stairs first, then scared themselves and ran straight back up, like follow the leader. Thank you for making me feel welcome! :):)

Ask as many questions, I'm forever asking questions so you won't be on your own :))!

Well done on there new home, pigtures of there home would be lovely too, I always love seeing peoples ideas and designs :)!

at the moment its very basic, a 3 tier, filled with toys, houses, hay ball etc! I worried myself a little thinking they would get through the bars! PANIC over! they can't! What do you have in your hutches/cages for your piggies?
When I was 10 all there was, were toilet rolls and some chew blocks available, I just want to make them a haven, inside and out

Ooooo they are gorgeous, and if thats what your boys look like they are clearly gorgeous x).

My piggies, mainly have tunnels and hides. They live in a C & C cage, I have 2 pairs.

This is my cage.

WOW I think your piggies are v v happy! If they don't end up looking like those I don't care if that sounds bad, all shaped and sizes but the colour is spot on, I don't know the breeds that well but is that a rex in your pic? She looks so cute! :)) and cheeky!

You've now officially met my gang, they are all over the forum I love nothing better than looking at piggy pigtures and showing mine off :))!

i want all of them, where I come from a loft costs an extra £££££££££ I'm sure I will get there but the 2 piggies there are stunning!

I will be honest they are outside at the moment, but in a very cool space

Lots of piggies are kept outdoors aslong as there needs are met it's fine. My pigs are inside because its easier for me and I would worry lots, so best just to avoid that :))!

i didnt realise we had gone onto page 3 already! If I could I would but I cant at the moment, but they seem very happy, when it comes to winter, really hot nights etc they can use the garage, I laughed, the dogs I have are put out by the hutch, that is where they go in the garden for cool days x

Hello and welcome, hope you like it here :)
Can't wait to hear about how your little piggies settle in!

Hi Peter!

Welcome to the forum!

I love your boys, especially Blair - he's my kind of dreamboat! I am glad that they are settling in well.

We have got a collection of informative threads about a range of subjects in our reference section; you might fidn browsing there very useful! For housing inspiration, our housing section with it's hutch and cage gallery is a good place to start (best begin at the end!).

Like you, I have grown up with guinea pigs and have come back to them as an adult. A lot has changed since then, but I'm sure that you and your boys will enjoy the much better life and care we try to provide nowadays.

Hi everyone, I've taken a couple of pictures on my phone (which is pretty useless) The boys have been venturing out down the other tiers today, they have been right to the bottom as there is some poo in there though I didn't see them, but here are the boys,
this is Gordon
