First off this is not a debate meaning I didn't create this thread for arguing. I was thinking what would be reasonable ways to solve our Pet Store Solutions. Everyone can chime in their opinion but no arguing please. This is only for Problem Solving not digging the hole deeper.

Stricter rules and regulations for breeders. Rules on rehoming for pet stores. If pet stores could only home pets to one's that were suitable and prepared (housing meets rspca guidance etc) and breeders had to take full responsibility for proper sexing and separating of guinea pigs at the right age then it would be an immense start. It would stop the rehoming of pregnant pigs and the rehoming of pigs as an impulse purchase. Correct housing and advice would minimise boar fall outs at the teenage years and naturally demand would decrease (by way of no impulse or the fact it would be too much effort for the parent who just wants to keep their whining child quiet)

I work in a pet store :) We get a lot of bad press, but it's unfair for people to tar all of us with the same brush. The pets in our store (not just guineas) are treated like little kings and queens!

Edit: typo XD

I work in a pet shop too, they're not all the same. Where I work they're very strict on the care of the animals and although not perfect to my standards I'm sure we'll get there!
