Usual trundle round the supermarket today. Salad - that looks good, guinea pigs will like it
Pak Choi - I remember reading about it on the forum, must get some for the guinea pigs to try
Dill - one pack for the guinea pigs, one pack for me.
As usual most of the veg in the trolley was for them.

PS - tried the pak Choi. Keziah turned up her nose at it. Jemimah tried a nibble and turned up her mose at it. Merab went for it with gusto. Keziah and Jemimah decided it was now their new favourite food too - especially the leaf Merab was eating.

Your shop sounds more successful than mine. I had a home delivery today, one of my totes was missing on the van, it was the chilled one with all the veg. Poor driver was so apologetic, slight change of plan tomorrow, instead of cleaning the bedrooms I shall be taking my shopping trolley for a walk. Will look out for some pak choi. Serves me right for taking the lazy way out and letting the shopping come to me.

Your shopping trolley sounds a lot like mine @Merab's Slave. I'm sure the girls on the checkout think I must be terribly healthy! My lot love aubergines!

Never thought about trying aubergines- might do that if I remember when next shopping.
How do you give it to them.

I just cut about a 2cm slice off and then chop that into small cubes and chuck it in their general direction! Don't give them the green stalky bit at the top.

Our fridge here has more veg for the piggies than it does for us humans. It's kind of shameful that the piggies eat more vegetables than we do. I will have to try aubergine on the piggies too, they love zucchini so I can't see it being much different. Do you peel it @Betsy

I always think of the boys when I’m shopping and tend to come away with more for them than anyone else! They have their own fridge in the garage for all their veggies too. It comes in handy at Christmas for the overflow of food as well. My lot are very picky and won’t touch courgette, might try them with aubergine though, anything for a change!

Totally @Betsy ! This week we have a packet of little sweetcorn to eat ourselves or bin. Apparently they're not to the pigs tastes anymore.

Typical! Bet last week it was the BEST THING you had ever given them! Fortunately mine are just pigs and eat almost everything I chuck vaguely in their direction! Strangely they will eat parsnip peelings but not the ends that you cut off. :hmm:

Never tried aubergine or courgette but I've got some in the fridge so will see what they think. Chicory is a favourite so they would probably like pak choi, I'll put that on my next Tesco order!

Oh yes, that shopping trip sound familiar! Ours like Pak choi as well as the snails!

Haven’t tried them with Aubergines either!
I don’t like the texture so hadn’t thought of trying feeding to piggies.
Selfish Mum!

I’m with you on that one.
I like aubergines but can’t stand courgette or coriander so the piggies don’t get those

I don't like coriander it me it is EVIL stuff. But my lot love it! They can't shove it into their mouths quick enough!

Agree about evil :yikes: coriander but don't know whether the piggies share my opinion or not. Just popping out so might see if I can get some for them to try.

Glad I’m not the only one who feels that coriander is horrible stuff.
If we ever go out for a curry I’m the one who always asks them to leave out the coriander.
Piggies are still not going to get it - I don’t want to risk wasting food

My Oti used to leave cilantro (what we call coriander over here) be whenever I included it in his salad. Then I got Dobbins, who I was told got it quite frequently and really enjoyed it. Once Oti saw Dobbins eating it he tried it, and now it's the first thing he goes for whenever I include it in their salad. I always found it weird that a pig of mine didn't like cilantro, so it was nice to see him try it and come around.

Well, the aubergine and courgette disappeared. Clover certainly had a chunk of each but I only saw Silk nibbling courgette. They also tried a little coriander, which Clover loved, but Silk turned up her nose at it!

Tried mine on Pak Choi for the first time tonight. The leaves went quicker than the stalks! I'll find out in the morning if the stalks have disappeared when I give them their breakfast pellets and get them out of the hutch and into the run for the day.

I bought pak Choi once but the pigs weren’t keen.Ive heard it’s very high in calcium so I suppose it’s s good thing they don’t like it. @Kylie80 what is zucchini?

Zucchini is courgette @Gem789

Maybe we should have a list of all the different names foods are called as we are an international community.

I think it’s great that we are getting new ideas about food for piggies as we share their likes and dislikes.
