Hi all! I was just wondering if any of you feed your piggies any differently if they have been, or will be having a session outside on the lawn. My normal routine is to give my boys a scoop of pellets in the morning along with a bowl of salad each then early evening they have another scoop of pellets then late evening a slice of pepper. If I know it's going to be a day that the boys will be going outside, should I cut out one of these meals or just feed them as usual? They would only be outside for one to three hours at the very most. I'd feel mean not giving them their breakfast bowl of salad because that's what they're used to and look for and wouldn't be going outside until late afternoon early evening. Thanks for any help and suggestions :)

Hi, that’s a very interesting question and not something I’ve thought about before. Personally I give them the same amounts, unless it’s a day when I have cut grass for them, so they might get that instead of their evening veg.
My guess would be they are substituting hay for grass when they have time on the lawn.

if i have been foraging,i give peppers and spring greens but that is all they have otherwise i feed approx 30grams to each piggie from the sample diet recommended on the diet guide on the forum !

I've not been doing lawn time this year as my lawn is covered in ragwort which we're trying to remove or kill. But when I go foraging I bring back enough to replace at least half of their veg meals. I've noticed my lot will reduce their hay intake if I continue feeding the same amount of veg on top of the grass and forage I bring back.

Hi,
My morning routine all year round is pellets(Burgess excel) in the morning and veggies in the evening. In the summer if they have been out on the grass I give them less veggies but the same pellets in the morning x

If the grass is good and they've had good grazing then I do cut the veggies down on the days they have been out, but other than that nothing changing.

I almost stop veggies in the summer, except for a bit of pepper for vitamin c, but they get forged leaves as well as grass. I'm currently drying out some thistle to see if they like it, and they had beech leaves for the first time yesterday and loved them. Someone on here had mentioned that but I'd never thought of trees before.
