A Request - By Bann

Fellow Goblins, and also Other Humans, I am in a quandary, and both I and the Human are unsure of where to go next.

Camowen is a terribly housemate. Not only does he frequently try to steal my food, and bodyslam me out of his way to do so, but his sense of direction is terrible. He likes to wear cardboard trays as hats, and I don't begrudge him this, but he keeps running into me because he gets too excited and then I get miffed because I'm being whacked with a cardboard tray.

I know there's no maliciousness to this, and it stops him from trying to thieve my bed which can only be a good thing, but I'm wondering whether gnawing some holes into the tray for eyes would be a good idea? The Human says I'm very patient with Camowen, and I would be well within my rights to be upset about it, but I'm not upset. But I would like to help Camowen be less...like Camowen.

Oh dear. Perhaps it’s actually a sign of affection. Maybe Camowen runs into you with his special cardboard hat because he actually loves you very much and wants to share his special cardboard hat with you. Cutting holes in his special cardboard hat might make him very sad and then he’ll start sleeping in your bed instead. Annoying though Camowen might be, having a buddy to wheek with, whether wearing a cardboard hat or not, is really the best thing

Is there a cardboard hat for you to wear, too? If you also wear a hat, you can bump hats instead of Cam bopping you with his hat. Flipping things upside down to use in creative ways is fun ... maybe try wearing your bed as a protective shell?

Bann has, in fact, used the hat as a platform to lean on before. It, uh...didn't end well. It also took me some time to stop laughing afterwards.

Thank you, but I have tried, the Human has left two hats in the cage for some time. Camowen repeatedly ignores one of them so I tried it, and it wasn't for me. I don't know why he loves it so much.

Trays should be filled with food and hay so I can tip them over us both. Now that's fun!

Wait, your humans clean it up? Dad Human just rolls his eyes at us and says "Really?" in the driest tone of voice possible and then tells us to tidy it up ourselves and wanders off.

An update to this - I just went in to give them some hay and Cam was repeatedly walking the tray into Bann, and Bann clearly didn't appreciate it, so I did the only sensible thing and put the hay pile on top of the cardboard tray.

I am also confused ... the human does not put dumped pellets back in the bowl. It did take a while to convince the human that the "bendy bridge" is actually a cradle, though ... so I may have trained the human not to right what I flip.

Of course not, and Bann couldn't work out why his food wouldn't stay put. But it did have the intended effect - sometimes, rather than acting as peacemaker, I need to give them the tools to equally annoy the crap out of each other to make sure one of them learns their lesson.

And I mean Cam. I always mean Cam.
