Junior Guinea Pig
Meet Rose. I rescued her (along with Sweet William) from RSPCA Leybourne at the beginning of August. I don't know much about her history, but I do know that she was abandoned and when she arrived at the RSPCA she was infested with mites. There was also some concern that she might be pregnant (she wasn't).
When I first met Rose she was incredibly timid (as you can probably tell from the picture, actually - it was taken the day she came to us forever). Nowadays, she is still unsure of new people, but absolutely nothing like the skittish piggy that came home with me then - she's as bad as Sweep (whom I pretty much handreared) for begging for food and cuddles.
Don't let first impressions fool you - she's a dainty and pretty looking thing, but this girl has ATTITUDE! Sooty and Sweep prefer not to spend time with her if at all possible as she is very much the Alpha piggy.
Poor Rosie has had a bit of a tough time of it recently - first we lost Wills and then she was diagnosed with pneumonia. I wonder if the first isn't related to the second. Anyway, today we are celebrating because Rosie has finished her medicine course and is officially out of quarantine, so I thought it was an excellent opportunity to show off how gorgeous she is!
Still feeling a bit scared...
Queen of all she surveys...
