A sad goodbye, and hello to new faces

I had to have Suzie (the Suze of my member name) put to sleep in January - a sad goodbye to a lovely little piggie.

But, after the unhappiness of that, I still have Tess who is nearly 5; two rescue piggie girlies called Lottie and Trixie (got them in September) when they were about 9 weeks old.
I also have Boy - who was really tiny and, I think, too young, when I saw him in a pet place - I ended up buying him because I couldn't have walked away from him - he was so tiny and placid. Well now he is a lovely size, very cheeky and just waiting to go to the vets for a certain operation before he goes in with the girlies - although he knows they are there - from all the rumblestrutting that goes on.
And from last Sunday, 3 more piggies - Maisie who is a tricolour rex type, Maggie, white abby and Mel (short for Caramel) who is dark brown and caramel coloured and an abby. They have come indoors from a shed and have already realised the 'bag rustle/squeak/get fed greens' system works to their advantage. They were given to me by my friends neighbour who didn't want them anymore as she has 3 dogs and 2 cats.

Must get my camera sorted out so I can post some piccies.
 
congratulations on your little tribe. Hope all goes well with your little boy's operation... the six weeks we had to wait before our boy could go in with the girls was sooo long.

I too have a Caramel (my avatar).

Wow - sounds like you have your hands full but they all sound lovely!

I find it soooooo hard to refuse the 'bag rustle wheeeeeeks'....never mind 'puppy dog eyes', there's nothing like guinea piggy wheeks to tug a the heart strings and wear down your defenses! :)
 
I was just about to reply to the previous posts and .... they're off again -
Lottie has the most piercing squeak - the new girlies have this sort of burbling lower 'squeak' that rumbles around them in the cutest way, funnily, none of the others squeak. I'm convinced they have movement sensors in them because whenever I make a move from the computer desk - wheeek, wheeek, wheeek, there they go again :)

Suzie used to make this really low pitchrd mmm mmm mmm sort of noise which was her 'squeak'.

Well, off to give a last minute bit of lettuce and hay before bed.
