We have a new baby, very small and about 8 weeks...now we have 5! No name yet but my daughter likes Luna but my partner and I are leaning towards Pandy. She is very friendly and goes running straight too the other piggies, she is especially fond of our big boy, Treacle. I would love to find another yellow Teddy like Kiwi in my profile photo, too.

Oh my she's gorgeous I love a fuzzy pig :luv: She's a Rex though, not a Teddy, but imo they are even cuter ;)

Oh, they said she was a Teddy. Her fur is soft whereas our others with fur that looks like this, have rough feeling fur.

She looks like a rex/teddy cross to me. A lot of them are crosses these days, due to teddies being rarer in the UK so they were bred with rex's.

My Drom is a rex :)

I found this...
"The Rex is one of the largest breeds of guinea pig and is noted for its cuddly and affable nature. The fur is coarse and wire-like and the whiskers are crinkly. The Rex breed is often confused with the Teddy breed as they look very similar with their plush fur type. There are methods of telling them apart however; the Rex will have crinkly whiskers while the Teddy has whiskers that are longer and straighter, and the fur on a Rex is far more coarse to the touch than that of the Teddy."

Now I've read that Teddy's can have rough coats but also had an upturned nose.

Pandy is small, has the Rex crinkly whiskers but she has Teddy soft fur. So looks like Teddy/Rex cross.

He is a little cutey pie! When he was a baby he was even cuter. He was so small he had to sit in the food bowl! The picture is on my phone so will post it in a mo.

My recently gone to Rainbow Bridge piggy, Esme had a really rough coat - in fact, I used to get really itchy holding her! Sorry, can't get photos to upload for some reason but she was supposed to be a Teddy but as others are saying probably a Rex! She was a lovely sweet- natured little girl as this breed are known for. Lucky you!

I'm sorry, I lost Kiwi, in my profile photo a year ago and we only had her for a year. I still miss her, she didn't mind extended cuddles. I am wondering now if Treacle is a Teddy. They're all lovely anyway.

Do agree! Teddy or Rex?.. No idea - just love every single piggy, mine and everyone else's!

I had 2 purebred Rex piggies & had 2 before that which were definitely Rex or Rex crosses, their whiskers are usually curly & the hair is not uniform like a Teddy, Teddies seem to have slightly shorter more even looking fur if you see what I mean :) I will try & post a pic of mine on here, it is a bit hard for me to do as I still haven't got over losing them, they are the most adorable loving breed imo & losing mine definitely broke my heart sadly.
