A trip to the vets....

Many of us on the forum have been in similar situations where we have spent a lot of time on palliative care, it’s so tough when you have to make that decision as the bond is so strong. All I can say is that you are doing a wonderful thing for him and we are all here for you when the time comes.

You will need to consider his friend too, morbid though it sounds, make sure he has time to see the body and understands what has happened, I didn’t do this once and regretted terribly as I ended up with a very anxious and upset Guinea that was left. They will all react in different ways but it gives them closure.

Just wanted to say thankyou for this advice- it really helped when I found him & Domino. I left them both be for a good few hours this morning as Domino was lying next to him. Very special moment to see. Thanks again x

Sad news this morning. Lightening passed away in the early hours. He spent most of yesterday evening on my lap, very calm and peaceful with no struggles and passed with his brother beside him. Domino is still beside him so I'm taking some wonderful advice I received yesterday and leaving them be for a while.

I’m so sorry I just caught up with is. I am so very sad to hear this news but at least it was peaceful and he was with his gorgeous brother when he passed. He knew he was very loved. Hugs to you and your lovely family at such a sad time xx

Poor Lightening, but it sounds like he had a peaceful journey over the rainbow bridge and you did everything you could to make it less stressful for everyone and everypig involved x
