Well, I went to Milhaven yesterday and Joanne had picked 3 gorgeous sets of piggies for me to view and choose from.

It was so difficult to decide. How do you choose between 3 gorgeous boys, 3 stunning pink eyed ladies and a couple with a bond so strong they could act as marriage counsellors?

It took me two hours of deliberating, cuddling and asking Joanne her thoughts, it was so tough to choose. As a first time piggy mum, eventually, decided to go with who I felt most confident in being able to handle...so...I have the pleasure of introducing ...



Basil and Dilys, the most loved up cupids in the world!

I must admit, I am being a bit of an over worrying first time mum at the minute as they've not eaten and spend their time canoodling and hiding but I hope in time they'll be glad that I'm their mum (or maybe they're secretly wishing I'd picked the girls as they wanted to be Joanne's favourites :)) ).

It's difficult to tell them apart as they're virtually identical. So far, we identify Mr Cupid with his 'sooty' half black nose and he has a lightly darker/bigger bum!

I knew you'd be wanting photos so tried the best I could and this is all I have got so far which I managed to get while they were in a pen while I rearranged the thickness of their fleece bedding...

All the things in the world to sleep on/in and they choose underneath a padded piece of material I found in a charity shop for a £1 rolleyes

At the moment, I'm just going to sit with them little and often so they get used to my voice and smell and hope they might start eating and being a little more confident.

In the meantime, Basil is quite happy just using his missus as a pillow x>>

Gorgeous first piggies; they are lovely! How special to have a husband and wife pair as dedicated to each other as they clearly are!

I'm sure that once they are settled with you then they will feel very lucky to have you as their mum and will learn to trust you in no time!
 
What a gorgeous couple! Just give them time to get their bearings; you will find that within a day or two they will start to come out of their shells!

Awwwww, Basil and Dilys are going to love their new home, they are a very special pair of piggies and I'm so pleased they have such a lovely home. :) These guys are the most bonded piggies in the world and I'm sure they will settle soon and their beautiful, sweet personalities will shine through. Just keep on doing what you are doing! ;)

There haven't been any wheeks yet at all, not a peep. They really are very quiet and subdued preferring to hide all day, but hopefully they'll get used to us soon. We sit with them little and often. I've even got up during the night to check they're ok.

They're in a 154cm cage at the moment in our bedroom until my brother can move his things out of their room and go back to his own place once his DIY issue has been fixed. They're then going to have a very large C&C cage/castle. (Ooh, then the cage will be surplus, I could get some more! :) )

They've still not eaten as far as I can tell. I put an abundance of yummy veggies and blackberries out last night and not a thing has been touched. They just seem to want to keep in one spot. They are peeing and pooping though in one particular area - very tidy piggies!

I so hope they like it here. Time will tell and for the meantime I'll continue chatting to them. x>>
 
Awww! It must have been sooo hard to choose but Basil and Dilys are just gorgeous! It's lovely that you have such a well bonded pair!

I am more than sure that they will adore you, and they'll be popcorning and wheeking before you know it! They just need some time to adjust and then you'll really get to know them! It took little Finley about 4 days to come out of his shell but once he felt confident in his new surroundings there was plenty of wheeking and popcorning!

Welcome to piggy slavedom, you're going to love it!

Well, I've just put more colourful veggies and fruits out in the hope they may try eating a bit.

Still more hiding...I think they're fed up of my chattering. :))

They really like corn on the cob! Have you tried the green beans? Favourites indeed, keep trying, you will win them over with the beans! :)

The beans are out Joanne :) They peep their heads out and know they're there so hopefully they'll pluck up the courage to have some. If not, I'll try corn on the cob tomorrow! x

Bet they sneak out for some when they think your not looking! I have never known them pass on the beans. :) Put a few near the entrance of their bed...
 
I put 5 beans out early evening and when I went up a bit later I looked and they'd all gone. I put 5 more out to see what happened and they weren't there this morning ... I think they're just pulling a fast one to see if I'm a good enough slave or not :))
