MerryPip
Adult Guinea Pig
I have just been to sponsor a fairy light in aid of RNGP and realised I never posted a memorial to a very special little piggy who passed over to the bridge a month or so ago...
Promise was a very special piggy. She belonged to a girl called Chelsea, who had been a member of the Guide Unit I am a leader with. I had known Chelsea since she was a little girl and was devastated when she commited suicide last year aged just 13.
Promise was a great comfort to Chelsea's Mum and little sister following her death and when she developed severe dental issues it became clear she needed help. I was able to share my experience of having a dental piggy and helped Piggy Train little Promise to The Potteries for regular treatment by Claire.
She made amazing progress and Chelsea's mum made the heartbreaking decision to let little Promise live with Claire permenantly to allow her the best dental treatment for the rest of her life. She was such a happy little soul and settled in well with her cagemate Jamie.
Sadly Promise died suddenly not many weeks after she moved in with Claire.
My utmost thanks to all those at The Potteries especially Claire who put in a huge amount of work for this special little girl. You are all worth your weight in gold.
Sleep well little Promise, Chelsea is waiting for you just across the Bridge. Nothing can harm either of you now. You are much missed by piggy Jamie and your family Margaret & Caitlin and myself.
