Abandoned Piggies...

Well, first off, unfortunately I could not find any kind of article relating to this but anyways... Apparently some jackass locally here in town threw out (LITERALLY) a box of piggies out of their vehicle on the side of the road/highway and left them there. No worries, they were rescued and are unharmed; they are being given away to good homes. Honestly, the moment I heard about that it struck a nerve and I immediately questioned if they were alright, rescued, etc. and was relieved knowing their lives were saved from possible unfortunate outcomes.

A lot of people are just so annoyingly disgusting and lower than dirt. What gives these idiots any kind of right to determine the fate of these precious creatures? Not just Piggies, but creatures in general. Like for example, someone purposely stepping all over an ant hill which destroys the only world they know and even killing them.

People's lack of heart for other living creatures is just old; I think the law needs to crack down harder on these parasites, because it's just pathetic. You know... stuff like that. Anyways, let's all be fortunate these babies are well and safe.

Why do that, when there are so many rescues out there who will take them in? I get them in, in all shapes and sizes and all conditions. Some of the hutches which have come with them well! size, maggotts ect.

As I rescue I do not judge, I'm just glad, I've got the piggies and think "Right lets get these guys sorted" Vets, bath, good food, good bedding ect.

On the flip side of the coin, I have people who come and check out the premisis before handing piggies over. The pigs come with stacks of food, hay and toys ect. The old family like updates of the re homing ect. I've had some cages donated, which are 6ft long worth £200.

I think for every 5 good ones, you get 1 bad one. Never had one dumped on my door step as yet. But there will be a day.
 
oh dont get me started on this subject!i had 2 baby piggies dumped on my door step xmas eve!although i love them and theyre part of my family i am still angry about this!but on the upside(i suppose)they were placed on my doorstep and not dumped on a road.
my rabbit Hobo i found on the street we just thought she`d got out and the owners would come for her but nobody came, makes me assume that she was thrown out!
 
That's awful that someone can do that. I figure that either

A. they are ignorant and don't realise that animals have feelings too.
B. they're horrible people who could do that to an innocent creature, and could possibly to it to a person too, if they thought they'd get away with it.


Btw, daleksarah, I have a cat called Hobo, :) I found him in a carpark when he was about 3 months old. He was really skinny, dirty and had an eye that was so badly infected that the vet thought he'd have to remove it. Luckily it got better but it has scar tissue on it so he has very little sight out of it. But he is the nicest cat I've ever had, and is possibly half persian and an amazing gorgeous blue-grey fluffball!
 
Ughh! So so annoying i could rant about this for hours! These people should simply not have pets, more home checks should be done esp from pet shops!

My dog Taz, came to us when she was eight months old she was pregnant, skinny, and very badly abused it's took us eight years for her to stop flinching and shaking when we go to stroke her- with lots of TLC and trust.

I hope those little piggies find go loving homes and have a happier future! :)
 
I'm sure they are completely fine. C: That probably happened because, uh, there's a lot of idiots where I live easy to say.


I'm guessing since it was stated that it was a box full of guinea pigs (from what I heard it sounded like it was quite a few), then I'm just making a guess that they were being irresponsible and letting piggies make more piggies and then just came to the point that they didn't know what to do with them and not wanting the responsibility and then resorted to doing what they had done.

I don't know, the fact that because there has been a lot of cases (and is common) in which someone not wanting the responsibility of an animal(s) just gets rid of them the fastest way they can because they're selfish and lazy makes me think that.

I remember seeing some story on Animal Planet where the animal control/rescue were brought attention to a new litter of puppies, all buried alive in this jackass' back yard and most of them ended up passing away from it. All because this guy didn't want them. mallethead
