Heres a short and sweet tribute to Abbi our gerbil who had to be helped over the cardboard bridge today. Just make sure you cross it first old gal 😁

She was found in Abington park Northampton. Then handed to my local pets at home store, where we spotted her and couldnt say no. R.i.p little one, only knew you for about a year but you went out with a great christmas just gone , where everyone fussed her and she was so confident.View attachment 104209

Even when she was on her side struggling , she still wanted a mealworm

Sounds like a right cheeky character. At least she knew a loving home and is no longer in pain
She was lol. She was never scared either suprisingly, seems as she was dumped in a park in the winter. Suprised a crow or magpie didnt get her or a cat

I'm seen another gerbil up for adoption that if its still there when we are ready to move on then i may adopt. But i do want to try adopting a hamster. Do rescues have small furrys ?

No dis respect to Abbi but id hate for her home to just go into the cupboard

Sorry to hear of Abbi’s passing. A few years ago I took on an abandoned gerbil that was found on a uni campus when the students had finished for summer - obviously someone couldn’t take him home so released him. Luckily he was found and I saw him on the staff intranet and took him on. He was very weak but within a few days, with good food and care he thrived and lived a full life. I named him Richard - the name just popped in my head and wouldn’t go! Like Abbi, he was a character but I loved him.
I’ve seen hamsters and gerbils on rescue sites near me so you shouldn’t have a problem rescuing another when you’re ready.

Very sorry to hear of the loss of your adorable little lady. She had a lovely loving home with you. So sorry for your loss

Sleep well little lady

RIP Abbi

Aww bless. So sorry for your loss she sounds quite the lovable little character.
Gerbils are very nosey and cheeky lol. Thats what i love about them. They knoe the noise of russling bags for feeding time in my house , because they knew it was when the pigs got fed they did too

Thanks for all the lovely replies and thoughts and help. Means alot ☺. I have left abbi's cage set up because it feels like I'm erasing her if i do it straight away. Had just been cleaned out anyway

I’m very sorry for your loss.
Thanks for the message☺. I have just gone through the what if i was able to get her better thoughts the last day or two. But she was cold and laying on her side. I just really cant think what happened. I made the decision that if she wont let me syringe water to her, she wont take antibiotics. So i let her go
