Are Abbys more human friendly as a rule than other piggies?

The reason i ask is that i have adopted 3 guinea pigs... they were adopted a while back but i had to wait for the RSPCA to close the case... They are coming in a few weeks...

Now the Abby i have waas found in a fish tank very thin and with no food... She was left for i dont know how long... She is timid but is human friendly as she will come up to you and have a fuss... she has been bonded with a male smooth hair and a female coronet... She keeps herself apart from them for the most part i have been told but they all seem to be getting on fine...
My old Abby was very outgoing and vocal and would come up for a fuss etc...

Just wondering if it was a trait they have?

I think it depends on the pig not the breed, i dont think there are any rules when it comes to it :)

Yeah i did think so but it just seems weird that the only abby in th pack is the outgoing one and the other two who have been through much less than this one aren't!

On another question... If she likes being around people and doesnt really interact with the group would you have her as a single piggy who gets human contact most of the day? Or as a pair?
The other two seem to be getting on like a hosue on fire and i am worried she will be lonley... :(

wait and see how they settle as things can and do change in a new place
But if the other two then still look like they are closer i'd consider getting her a friend
Good Luck x

It does depend on the pig my Aby can be a sod if he gets fed last and can be aggressive to other pigs but I wouldn't be without him. I have a Smooth Sow is pretty much hands off and i just leave her too it as she is so independent I handle all pigs daily but some just do not like it at all.

:)

i had an aby (Xavier) and he was very friendly, but he was an only piggy.

now i have two abyruvians and they are such stuck up little beggars!

however i think it depends on the piggy!

My Abby is a little demon. He has earned himself 2 nicknames, Asbo and Gnashers. I have tried bonding him with 2 other boars (seperately) but he just wants to fight with them all the time. When I handle him he is constantly trying to find my fingers to bite them hence the nickname Gnashers! Once when I took him to the vet I asked her if she had a guinea pig muzzle but of course he was as good as gold there. He is a real character though.

I have always found that Abbies are more outgoing and human friendly than other breeds. They have always been more vocal too.

My Abby just loves to be with her friends. I don't think as a rule that abby's are more human friendly, it really depends on the individual piggy. Some just love human company and other just don't!

my aby Xavier didnt get on with other guinea pigs but loved me to pieces :'( :'( :'( he would of been 1 now :'( :'( :'( and the boys i've got at the moment prefer being with each other than being with me...just like humans and every other living thing everyone is different.
