Abigail was fine yesterday, eating really well and racing around her cage. I woke up this morning went down stairs and she was making a rasping noise, made a appointment at the vets for this afternoon. They said that she might have a reduced airway and may keep having this problem but she is not in any pain. They gave Abigail a nebulisation session and gave me Marbocyl P tablets and Oxbow critical care to assist with the tablet taking. I will give my first medication by syringe feed tomorrow ( a little nervous), but the vets showed me how to wrap her up to hopefully keep her calm, as we are still in the bonding process. They also found some lumps on the lower part of her tummy, but vet thinks they are fatty cysts. We are going back on Wednesday for check up, but told me to call them if I am worried about anything. Absolutely fantastic vets, so helpful and was brilliant with Abigail. So fingers crossed my little girl gets better soon.

Hope little Abigail makes a speedy recovery. There is a syringe feeding guide on the forum found under the guinea pig guides section x

Thank you Bill and Ted's mum. Got up several times throughout the night to check on Abigail, she is still making a rasping sound but is eating and drinking well and still running round looking well in herself.
Bill's teeth looked great in your post yesterday. Bill and Ted are both very handsome boys. x

Aw thank you, they are lovely. hopefully the meds will kick in and get rid of that hoot x Glad she is still eating well and running around, you may have to see what happens when the meds kick in, they sometimes loose their appetite, then you will have to start syringe feeding if that happens x Make sure you get plenty of sleep yourself as caring for a piggie can be exhausting over a few weeks, like a newborn baby with regards to feeds x

Thank you for your kind wishes. First time giving meds through a syringe today. Abigail was a little star, so well behaved once I wrapped her in a towel, I think I made the mixture up a little wet, so will try and get it a little thicker tomorrow. x
