Hello, all piggie parents. I have a question. So there are several things I want to ask about today. The first thing is about the Corona-virus and piggie. So my mom bought three bags of hay( I will show the hay picture below.) I put outside for two days ( counting today). So today I put outside in the morning. However, my mom called a worker for looking how much is for cutting big trees which is in my backyard. He did not wear mask and spit on the grass which is near the hay bags. Then in the afternoon, I took it to the garage and sprayed alcohol to them. Then, I put inside my home near where the piggie's other hay bag is. So I just finished washing bottle. I took the bottle and walked by and very closed to bags. Will the bottle or bottle spout get the virus?
The other question is that I put the pellet bowl in the air which is near the bags. And I think I am near the pellet, but my throat is dry and a little bit hurt (perhaps I drink a little water today.) Will I transfer some human diseases like throat hurt or something to my piggie?

So tomorrow my mom will call many workers for cutting trees. If there is some virus on the grass or just anywhere in the backyard from the workers, is it fine if I put piggie's thing outside for letting virus die by air?

I am sorry. I want to add the other thing. So there are some geckos in the garage which I normally put the cage cleaner on one of the table. I worrid their urine got inside the spout and being poisinous? Will it be a case?

Hi @Xiaoxiao
None of these concerns is a legitimate health worry at all, you should not be spraying alcohol on your hay bags, of all the things you mention, this is the only one that may harm your piggies.
Human diseases, and gecko diseases, cannot usually be transmitted to guinea pigs. Of course if you think you are ill you should not cough directly on your guinea pigs and you should wash your hands regularly just as basic hygiene.
Viruses do not magically jump from one place to another and only survive a few hours outside the body. Viruses are mainly transmitted by an infected person coughing or sneezing directly onto another infected person, or onto something the other person puts on their face straight away. Viruses usually only jump species if you eat a sick animal, or if a healthy animal eats a sick person.
I appreciate that you are anxious about many things, but PLEASE READ the replies our staff and health advisors keep giving you and try to consider how your many posts about groundless health concerns are affecting other people, you are causing others to worry about things that are really nothing to worry about!
Stay safe and well and try not to worry so much, perhaps you could post something happy like some photos of your guinea pigs, or take a look at some of our cute guinea pig photos, to help take your mind of all these worries?
