I am absolutely heartbroken today. My dear old fuzzy fellow Mr Ted was PTS at the emergency vets this morning. I'll post in the Rainbow Bridge when I'm more composed.

Oh my... I'm really sorry VickiA. Sending you tons of hugs :(

Oh Vicki! I'm so sorry to hear this, what an awful shock :( Massive hugs to you x

Thanks to you all. I'm still in shock to be honest. I found him this morning shrieking in pain and passing blood. He was so distressed and I've never seen a piggy in such pain -I don't think I'll ever forget it. All credit to the emergency vet who opened up first thing to see us and gave him some very strong pain relief while we found out what was going on. Unfortunately X-rays showed he had a stone wedged firmly in his urethra. Taking into account the size of the stone and the scarring on his lungs from his pneumonia earlier in the year we both felt that surgery would be very risky and with no guarantee of success. So we decided it was kindest to help him on his way to the Bridge. He was very peaceful at the end and I have no doubt I made the right decision for him, but that doesn't make it any easier to bear.

That is very sad :( I think you did the right thing letting him go, the only comfort you have is that he has had an amazing time with you !

That's devastating. I'm so sorry that must have been such a horrible decision to make but like you said it was definitely the right one to keep him from any more pain. Big hugs to you xx

So sorry to hear about Mr Ted - what a traumatic experience :(. Take it easy to recover from the shock. Glad you and the vet could help Mr Ted for the end, heartbreaking though.

Oh no that is heart-wrenching. So sudden and completely unpredictable.
Massive hugs to you. I hope you'll be ok. Be free at the Bridge fuzzy Mr Ted. x x

Oh no how sad and sudden :( but take comfort knowing you were there when he needed you. He is peaceful and pain free at rainbow bridge now xx

My husband was out when all of this happened and out of phone contact so he only found out what had happened later this afternoon.
We've just buried our fuzzy fellow in the garden next to his first wife Mrs Fudge. Our pet cemetery section is now close to bursting.
It was such a shock because there were no warning signs and I just wasn't expecting it.

I am so sorry you lost Mr Ted in such a sudden way. You did the right thing to help him over the bridge when he was in such pain, a horribly hard decision to have to make. Sending hugs to you.

I'm so sorry to hear this, even though it's a very hard Decision to make, you made the right choice having him PTS to save him from suffering anymore.
RIP Mr Ted xx

Vicky I have only just seen this. What an awful shock. I am so very sorry, Mr Ted was such a lovely piggy. Massive hugs to you X X

BIG HUGS

I am so sorry! It always comes as such a shock when a piggy goes downhill very quickly and there is nothing you can do apart frm lettng it go without having the time to brace yourself. :(
