I like bringing my guinea pigs inside and chilling with them and I used the only thing I could find-a puppy training pads - and I was wondering if the chemicals or scent could hurt or even kill them?

Tips and opinions please

In my opinion, puppy pads are one of the best pad absorbent ever.
I used puppy pads when I first got my guinea pigs, as they were peeing all over me when I was outside with them on the grass, and guinea pig stains are very hard to get out on white clothing.
Until my guinea pigs were trained not to pee on my, I started to use less of the puppy pads, yet I still have spares just in case they get a bit excited when I have food. :D

They are only toxic to guinea pigs if eaten. If they are just sitting on them there is no problems at all. Though on saying that mine have eaten like half a puppy pad before with no ill effect.

The other option is to use a waterproof lap pad when they are sitting on your lap for cuddles. Lots of places make them or you can make your own.
