Abysinians run different compared to smoothed haired pigs.

Must be the body structure or something, i do know abyssinians have a wedge shaped to the body. Anyway i noticed that Bernie seems to have a really springy run where as Dot has a woddly run lol. Anyone else noticed this, with your different breeds?

Yes definitely! Jezzy floof has a sort of mincing springy run, Piggle, Puggle and Theo gallop like racehorses, Blodwen pig... for some reason has the world's shortest legs (even shorter than mine!) and scuttles like a beetle :)

lol they sound like right funny characters, it could be Bernies longer legs that make him run differently

Jezzy floof has a good turn of speed when she's spooked or excited but mostly she jogs like a chubby person wearing high heels and a fur coat on a trampoline... lots of bounce but not much forward motion!
Clover can gallop very well too for a big girl with a disabled back leg, as long as she's in the longest fleecy cage section that's very soft, but she can't keep it up for long and on a hard floor she waddles or kangaroo hops a fair bit. Lot more mobile than when we first got her though when she'd tip over a fair bit on her bad leg corner :)

Yes that is so true lol. Ginger (my abby) has a wobble wobble type of run while Buttercup, my smooth guinea, walks straightly and less wobbly.

“a chubby person wearing high heels and a fur coat on a trampoline” that’s exactly how I would describe Dexter’s run.

Yes, that does seem to be true. All of our piggies are Abyssinians or Abyssinian mix except Ezra. All the abys but Lumen have a more waddle type run. Lumen loves zoomies and can run quite fast and quite gracefully lol.

My little mini smooth Jess (870g) gallops and bolts like a maniac, despite being 5 and a half+, hasn't changed since 7weeks when I got her.
My old gorgeous alpaca Sheepy (1200-1300) was very much more chilled when he walked, slow pace and waddled, even at full speed! And he was much younger!

Maybe this is why I do a double-take at Leo sometimes thinking he’s hurt himself when he runs :)) I’m not sure of his breed but he’s definitely not a Teddy like my other 3.

The quality isn’t great but I found 2 old clips of Lumen and Phoebe running. In one of the clips you see Lumen’s fast zooms and Pheebs slowly waddle behind
That's brilliant! Gorgeous happy piggies :)
Well guessing must be gorgeous but can't see that well with that speed! ;)

My abys run like they’re on tip toes, they look more toned and athletic :)). I never really thought about it until now, but yes they move differently to my other breeds!

They’re also more hyperactive, I find.

Oh yes, they have big personalities and can be quite mischievous. Five of my six are abys. I definitely have my hands full lol.

Jezzy floof is far from hyperactive but she does definitely always run on her tiptoes like she's wearing high heeled shoes! Also she runs with her back feet far too close together considering the width of her hipbones :)

My Betsy is a Sheltie and she runs like her back legs can't keep up with her front. Christian runs on his tippy tip toes and tells everyone where he is at the same time, Meg runs so fast when the mood takes her she is like a black streak of lightening so I can't tell how she runs it's like "Oh look there's Meg..... UMMMMMMMM now where did she go?" Dennis runs smoothly like all his legs are working in unison (unlike the love of his life Betsy) and Velvet is like Meg "Now you see me, now you don't"
